Everybody must be out fishing. Looking at doing a fall tournament possibly either at Alum Creek or Lake Loramie. IT will be either Oct 9th or Oct 23rd.

Will HONESTLY do my best to make it, Ffisch. I STILL feel bad wasn`t able to join you all, but HAD to get the other attractors in, and was TOLD (in NO uncertain TERMS!) it was either or...Some GOOD news; I`ve got approx. 40 blocks left to chip the @#$% 7 layers of paint off of ; then wire brush the other 3 walls, and so on. Am slowly getting there; within a month will begin trenching down the walls to the footer, cleaning and patching the outside, ect, ect...I GOTTA quit taking on the "HARD ONES"...cuts into my fishing time too much, but I PROMISED...

If you have the money it would be much simplier to hire a professional crew that does this everyday and they have the equipment to get it done fast. They would be be in and out in a week and save your back alot of aches and pains. But if you don't have anything better to do, it would save you a few grand by doing it youself. Good luck with that anyway.

Agreed as far as they would get it done faster, but will also need to chisel out the split mortar seems and fill in the cracks with hydraulic cement; was going to remove the single pane basement windows and just fill the blocks under the openings completely full too with galvenized rebarin it then replace the windows with energy efficient newer versions before sealing and painting it. then refinishing it. Got 3 estimates from $9000 to $11,000 for the inside and $7,000 to $9,000 to trench, repair, seal and membrane and insulate the outside walls including adding 6" drainage tile and back filling it with pea gravel. For $16 to $20 thousand I`ll just do it myself. Will obviously take longer, but will be certain it WON`T EVER leak again (short of a major earthquake)

Yea that is even more then I was thinking. Apparently the price of that has gone way up over the years just like everything else.

Apparently, most of the estimated cost is of course the labor and renting a Trac Hoe. Ain`t CRAZY about doing it, but can see no real alternative that will ENSURE it doesn`t just keep on leaking. Most products i looked at have a 5 yr "guarentee". And DO NOT want to "re do" it in 5 yrs...will do most of the digging at night when it`s cooler. Interesting developement at CJ, I guess some of the guys whom helped do the later parts of the "project" are upset we were REQUIRED to post them and make them "public knowledge". They seem to feel that "they helped' and even though they are in a public lake that they are "their' property" and shouldn`t be used by others. Sort of keep them "secret...GOOD GRIEF ! Ironically, right now there aren`t a whole lot of fish on them, as almost everything in the lake is gorging on the very abundant shad. Will WONDERS never cease? Even more ironic was that we were informed from the beginning that as soon as they touched the bottom and came to rest, they became the property of the Corps of Engineers...oh WELL !

There are so many brush piles in the lake now that if someone is fishing one , just go to another. I am sure there are some that will be more productive than others but these local guys should be able to find one of them that has fish on them. Let them whine, they will get over it sooner or later. You know Lowell, I think we are about the only 2 that post much on this site. Would be nice to hear from some other Ohio folk once in awhile.

Hey Larry. Not for awhile. I have just been catching little bluegiils from one pond and putting them into the pond where we are having the kids fishing derby in a couple weeks. We are looking at a panfish tournament in October, maybe at Alum Creek. Will you be able to make it.

Just wanted to put out the dates again for the fall tournament to see if there is a preference. Oct 9th or Oct 23rd. Voice an opinion if you would like to fish in it. Probably will be At Alum Creek or maybe lake Loramie.
