Here is a link for the flooding of Lake Champlain. I can't find anything on the TI launch but the ferry is NOT running. I'm not even sure the docks got put in before the flooding started.

Well it still looks like Champlain may be a bust but Lake George is a great lake to fish. I'll be up there with our group on Friday morning. Wish we could go earlier but they won't allow anyone in early this year. Looks as if we have about 16-18 members coming this year for our 12th year of this meet.
can't wait to see everyone again.

Wow, Guess we all thought the same...someone eles was gonna let the world know we all made the trip. Well it took till now to even get back online...It's been an awsome season since the meet. I am happy owner of a 20 pontoon that Ive converted into a luxury fishing liner that is moored where I rent a lake cabin. Ah life IS GOOD!

I guess I should get on about that meet, We had a great time with the best fishing weather you could hope for. Fronts were passing through all weekend with just enough chop to keep the fish nice and active without the big rains to muddy things up any worse than the exceptional rains befor we arrived. It was so high at Champlagne the PA bass boyZ were loading in the parking lot of the sunken ramp at fort Tikonderoga. waders were key I hear from the mates.

Denise and I stayed on George with no trips out skunking us even when the one stome that ran us in gave us only two casts each before it rolled over the hills right on op of us...we made it in dry with the first dro{1}****ting the boat cover just when it was back on the trailer. That kid of sums up the whole trip. We could do no wrong and everything seemed to just fall into place.

I was a bit dissapointed we diddn't see Rabit. Somehow I'd had the idea he was thinking it... but I think a few people did heed the weather reports that were far scarier that the days turned out. Maybe next year.

It was realy great to see everyone again. Thank you all for making Denise comfortable...I know it's tough for ya PA John... See ya'll next year.

First time on the NAFC website since the NE Meet in May. I had a great time up there. Got my ice cream at the "Wind Chill" good food in TI and at the campsite. I must admit those campfires at night made my cheeks hurt. Too much laughing! I had fun fishing with BBQ Bill and Sally and with Sam and Rick. The weather was great.Pappy ,Patrick and Erik lots of laughs again.Erik good luck on becoming a PA State Trooper, remember to get me a "Get out of Jail " card. It was a pleasure to partake in a sip of the finest nectar with such a gentleman and fine Lady as Karl and Denise. And last, one more small facet of the Meet" I got some killer smallies" I wonder if everyone I passed on the way home was curious as to why I was smiling so much? How ever I was home for one day and had to fly to FLA. for 10 days of surf fishing and Bass fishing the Everglades, but that is a story for another forum. See ya in May 2012, PA John

NAFC Members, as you begin to plan for the 20120 Meet at Rodgers Rock in May. I would like to share some info with you.

Possible Inspections, Boat Washing & Gates on Lake George:

Gentlemen and Ladies I do invite you to please visit a thread that I started on the Fish 307 foum http://www.fishingtheweb.com/forum/default.asp and under Regional Fishing Chat>New York (Lake George Region)>Sportsman Must Speak Up For Lake Access. Many of our Lake Champlain Fishermen may not be aware of the possible pending regulations for boat launching on Lake George. There is a group of people known as the Park Commission's Committee on Invasive Species Spread Prevention that are trying to get regulations against launching your boat anywhere into Lake George without a mandated inspection first. They also want boat washing stations in different loactions around the lake to wash your boat. They have now proposed the first boat washing station to be put at a central location of the lake at Norwal Marina in Bolton Landing. They have already stated a cost of $25 to $35 to wash your boat. Along with this boat washing station, they want gates to be installed at all public launches (not that there are many) on Lake George to prevent us from launching our boat except when an Inspector is on duty to inspect your boat. They want this first baot washing station to open this spring!

Now if you think they will have any inspector on duty 24/7 then you live in fantasy world. Just imagine wanting to go fishing at 4:00 am or on a weekeday in October. Yes you already know the answer unless you live in that fantasy world. By the way NY DEC knew nothing of these plans untill one of our members mentioned it at a DEC meeting a couple weeks ago. There are many people including fishermen that say this is crazy and will never happen. Well they could be right, but some of these same people did get a law enacted in Warren County this past fall for transporting Invasive Species and that allows any law enforcement officer to stop you while you trailer your boat on any highway in Warren County, NY and give you a ticket for transporting an invasive. Yes if the sheriff hapens to notice some aquatic weed hanging from your boat or trailer, he can pull you over and give you an expensive ticket. They passed that law in less than 30 days from first talking about it and the public had no input.

Now I know many of you may only fish on Lake George one week per year or not at all. Even if you don't fish Lake George, just think if they make this law for Lake George, where will they make it law next. I am a sportsman and avid fisherman and I do care about our fisheries! I don't want invasive species to be spread from one body of water to another. If any of you have watched me load my boat at any boat ramp, you have observed me wiping down my entire hull prior to strapping down my boat and driving away. Yes I have been called anal by fellow fishermen and my friends. It is true I am anal about my boat to keep it clean and I don't transport invasives down the road as I am proactive in prevention.

Please visit the fish 307 forum. Also watch some of the local Newspapers such as the Post Star or the Chronicle for articles about this subject. There was a great article in the Feb 16-22 issue of the Chronicle weekly newspaper written bt Dan Ladd on page 30 about the Invasive Prenetion program and he quoted me in that article. I am planning more and I can use the support of all fishermen, hunters and sportsman associations to prevent the gating of public boat launches on Lake George or anywhere.

Thank You... Walt Kendall, President of Lake George Fishing Alliance
