Im a vet that has been to Iraq twice.  Im looking for somebody around the Menomonie, Wisconsin area that knows some good northern and bass lakes to fish either in WI, or MN.  I have a 17ft bass tracker that we can use.  I also know alot of lakes in wisconsin to fish, im just looking for information on possible good fishing lakes.

    Thanks,

    Travis

Hi Travis...David here. I live about an hour south of you...about 1/4 mile from Lake Pepin. Shoot me a pm and maybe we can hook up this spring / summer.

I served from '78-'85 in the Army  thanks for your service to our country

I haven't fished a lot of lakes in Wisconsin...only lived here since '08. Grew up around Brainerd in central Minnesota though.

I have a ton of tackle...and a massive amount of lake maps etc...for both Minn and Wisc... to play with too.

For that matter...I have an empty bedroom...so if you want to get down this way for a weekend and get out in the area...I can do that too.

Several Members have been guests at my place here...including turnip...muskygirl...the rod tosser

Travis: If ya want to go, not a problem go to the Facebook site as it's usually easier to get to. Myself and a couple others would be more than happy to help ya  out with the fishing. Either in your boat or in ours which ever is easier for ya. We just need to wait for soft water LOL as I don't do the Ice thing. Hoping to hear from ya over on Facebook!!!! Lou

First I want to thank you for serving and protecting us. I live in California so I can't help with your local fishing, but if you make it to southern Cali, look me up and we'll take you fishing. We got salt and freshwater year round.

Travis: Thanks for your service! Several NAFC members submitted information for you after I posted your query on the NAFC facebook page:

Morgan Ellingson: Tell him to ding me up....I fish both states alot

Louis Olvitt: Check the NAFC site under State of WI. there are a lot of folks there, that is if ya can get the site to load ????

Louis Olvitt: I'll be more than glad to take him out if we ever get soft water LOL it's the least I can do for a fellow soldier and fisherman!!

Dan Sikorski: First off Travis, Thank you for your great service to this country. Secondly, Any of the lakes in the Birchwood area are good for bass and pike, especcially Big Chetac, Red Cedar, and Hemlock. Email me and I can give you my secret lake only l...ocals know about for LARGE BUCKETS. 1- 7llb 14oz 1-5lb 2oz 1-4lb08oz and about 12 2-3lbs in 5 hours of fishing in July.

Ben Marx: I've been to Iraq twice as well. Don't thank me, thank yourself's for the support. On the behalf of many fellow soldiers I know, I want to say we couldn't have done what we did without your support and the care packages filled with candy!! I prefer the Wisco river in Stevens point... then again its only a block away from my house! I hear Lake Dubay is good too, going to try it this year for the first time myself.
