Hi I live in dayton ohio and I have fished many years in the past. Over this time I have tried to fish the great miami river and stillwater river for smallmouths, but I dont seem to have any luck. If anyone could help me with places to go and what to use for these elusive fish I would greatly appreciate it. Also, I have heard of ludlow falls as a big swimming hole, but is the fishing any good? I plan on fishing in the next few weeks if the weather stays near 50 but I would be thankful for any advice.

Don't know much about fishing the miami river, except there are a few falls around that people catch smallies amd saugeye in the pools below them. Also some of us from the ohio chapter are putiing together a panfish tournament in May over at CJ Brown east of Springfield. That is in your neighborhood. You are welcome to join us.

I live in south dayton, centerville/springboro area. I'm also a member on the ohio game fishing community board and see people catching smallmouth and saugeye all over the great miami river.
I, myself, have had no luck either. Around town I mostly fish private or public ponds in the area. Grew up fishing Ceasars Creek and Paint Creek with my grandpa.
