Bought some gulp minnows and jigs, Was just wondering how should i  hook the minnows with the jig. Should the tip of the hook be comming threw the back, or should it be comming out of the belly.

Im not sure. I don't use jigs. But I have some gulp minnows and they catch a ton of bass! When nothing else seems to be working I Texas rig one of those babies using a Gamakatsu hook and I knock the smallmouth bass dead!

The usual method is to rig with the hook point up through the back of the bait. Some anglers have reported success riging with the bait hooked to run flat or sideways with the hook coming out the side. The only functional difference between a jig and a Texas rig is that the weight is part of the jig instead of separate. Tom

Sometimes I hook the gulp minnow with the hook point through the back, sometimes it just on the head.
