Honest thoughts by you
rhinohead...and I'm sorry for your loss.
I lost my Dad back in '88 to bone cancer. I was "lucky" in the sense that at the time I needed a hernia operation...and the least expensive place to have it was back here in Wisc. So I got to spend roughly 3 weeks here at home before he passed about a month later.
As a young kid...I often would discuss fishing with him...and though we lived on a farm with river property....he allowed me to fish down there by myself at a young age. He told me of his experiences as a kid on a farm in Wisconsin that had an old mill pond on a creek...and it had backwaters too.
Ironically...the river that I grew up on had some of the same features that his creek had.
God Bless....and thanks for your post
