How serious can a discussion get on a fishing website? And you are much more guilty of veering the subject off topic than I am. Just FYI.

The discussion is the judge and jury, evidence clearly presented already in order of testimonies given. I think Dave D's LAXITIVES is a clue as to what might help a few of us most for the immediate moment

it was about oiling fishing pliers then went to wd40 because it was also known as a fishing attractant ,then the many uses for
then it went to some one using it on there BLTS. is the wd40 to help it slide down or out ? the jury is out the judges are judging .
now to go of topic even further But as to answer your question of how serous can a discussion be on a fishing website ?
it can be down rite serious on tell some one comes along and changes it muckaluc .
there use to be some really good discussions on this web site allot of them started by daveset on river fishing and map reading and other things related to fishing .

Dave and I both miss those long series topics that if anyone had thought about it in time would have filled a fishing book. When all that got deleted there was a very noticeable drop in enthusiasm for high-commitment discussions.

Anyway, now we have some good advice for lubing pliers. This comes up once every year, never fails. Here's another. I still like Mega Strike attractant, which if on my hands while using pliers, will lube them quite well whether needing it or not. I also mix olive oil and garlic in a blender, used that on my hands when I had a terrible habit of smoking while fishing. Fish or all species love that stuff.

Jim

I suggest you ingest a copious amount of it then. Immediately.

Just for the record, I'm serious about the mineral oil. It is used as a laxitive ( table spoons at a time ) but it is fairly cheap - has NO odor - and works VERY WELL for lubricating fishing pliers.
