How's it going? New member from Tucson, Arizona. I've been fishing almost every weekend for the past year and a half. Still waiting to hook my first largemouth bass, open to any and all advice other members care to share with me. I've been fishing a lot at Pena Blanca, Patagonia and local urban lakes (Kennedy and Silverbell) frequently. Anyway, looking forward to getting to know fellow anglers in the area as well as those around the country and in Canada. Take care, Oscar

Thanks for the welcome, and thanks for your military service. Not sure if you hear it enough, but it's appreciated from all of us who understand the price of freedom.

Hi Oscar. I'm in Phoenix. My partner and I fished Canyon Lake April 1 & 2 and caught 1 smallmouth, 2 largemouth, 2 yellow bass, 7 channel cats between 4 and 8 pounds, and at least 75 bluegills.
In the Tucson area I'd go with Patagonia and Kennedy for largemouth.
Also check the azbasszone.com website as it is all Arizona bass fishing oriented.
Veteran poster refers to our posting count, as yours says new poster. I am also a military veteran and humbly accept your thanks.
    Happy fishing.

Thanks for the welcome bass or bass? and ramseyetcs. Bass or bass? I remember reading your post about the great fishing trip earlier this weekend, that's awesome. I was going to ask, what were you catching them on? I fish Kennedy often, mostly for channel cat and trout. I've thrown in bass lures at Kennedy but usually get them snagged. Can I ask, when you go to Patagonia, where have you had luck, specifically? As in which coves and what not, if you remember.

Oh, and about the Veteran status and what not, yeah I get the posting status for the forums. I was referring to the "signatures" found under the postings of other members... some of them describe military service, as vkinder states he's a Vietnam vet.

And not to sound too corny but I just appreciate our veterans and military personnel and families. I myself have not served, but that doesn't mean I can't understand the price of freedom and appreciate what service men and women sacrifice so we can have our liberty.

I've never fished Patagonia, I just know it's probably the best bet in the Tucson area. I haven't lived in Tucson since 1987. I caught most of my fish (except the cats) on my fly rods. Did do a little worm fishing on an ultra light spinning rig as well for some of the bluegills. Used live bluegills for the cats.

Nothing 'corny' about it, thanks for your comment.  Many don't appreciate it, some do and just don't mention it.  It' always nice to be appreciated for service!
