i go to high limits when it comes to my tackle. lure gets stuck on a branch and its not coming down. WHAT DO YOU DO?

and now me im not leaving till i get my lure back cuz they are to damn pricey to just leave hanging on a branch in a tree. i do what i can to get it down i dont care about whose standing there trying to fish. i spent hard earned money on my tackle and im not leaving till its back in the box

One of the pro fisherman tells in his book that early on hr purchased one of those extendable pole retrievers, said it paid for itself in a couple of weeks, not only in recovering hi tackle but that lost by others also. Have I got one yet, well no.

A telescoping pool cleaning pole will work just as well and may be less expensive.

I bought two lure retrevers from Cabelas several years ago both paid for themselves after two uses. One is a long pole extens out to 16 feet great for trees and under water, all you do is put the cork screw on your line follow your line to lure and twist pole. You might damage the hooks but I'd rather replace a 5cent hook than a $6 bait. The other one I have is for under water only. It is a big steel split ring about 3/8 inches thick, with a gated opening on ,it open the gate put your line in ring let ring slide to lure the two steel hooks on ring, will grab your lure and pull it free.  If the lure wou'nt come loose you will probley pull up the snag two, this retrevier has a good heavy cord on it mine pulled a log up once we figured it weighed a good 300pounds ( no foolen) got my lure back.                 MCOPELAND1

edukeman:   Thoes steel rings work good don't they works in low hanging tree branches toss the ring on the branch your hung in pull branch to you cut branch off above your lure. Or if the branch your hung in is rotten and not too big around just pull until it brakes off. I've done this also works real good.     MCOPELAND1        PS.Carry a pair of pruning shears in your boat to cut off branches.

The extending pole is great. I have saved many lures / plugs with it. Tube jigs also.
