I can believe all the days of rolling doughnuts finally paid off! I caught my personal best lake trout and it is the largest fish I have ever caught ice fishing. I doubled up!

I just could not contain my achievement, and I know the NAFC members can appreciate it more than most. I have fished many moons for a lake trout like this one. I caught it using a large white tube on a 3/4 oz jig in about 90 feet of water. It crushed the lure and peeled out more than 150 feet of line inaddition to what was already down to 90 feet. I almost had a panic attack has it head shook and I chanted "stay on the hook" all the way to the surface. Still reliving in my dreams and it was 2 days ago.

I got to thank my friends that were there to help keep me calm during the fight and take photos of the beast before I released the fish. I hope it grows bigger and I can catch it again one day? The fish was revived and released strong.

Fish On, this is why I do it! Its all about catching a great fish for me!
