Panfish or Bluegills?  I never have know much about the formal in and outs of fishing just the enjoyment of catching those little critters.  Pound for pound they can just about compete with any species.  Mu family and friends have enjoyed both the prespawn, spawning, and post spawning of what has been one of the best springs we have ever known in our new home on the lake.  In the last ten years of careful management bluegills have grown from about the size of three fingers to about the size of your hand to two years ago about 1lb and this year many of them are about 1 lb 8 oz and occassionally some of them are over two pounds.  Now that will bring a giggle out of each family member and shear delight out of me.  The crappies are well over two pounds and we seldom mention the size of the largemouths--the largest this spring was 16 lbs. 9 oz. but we did not get a good picture.  I am going to have to practice up on my photography skills.  Remember, if you teach a child to fish at a young age:  "He will fish for men for life!"  I thank God during this Holy Season of getting caught very early in life.  Gone Fishing!  Uncle Tom
I built my own lure company as a young man--thus the name UncleTomsJigs. It grew so well I decided to give it up and go fishing with family, friends and especially grand children. I became disabled as a United Methodist Pastor IN 2002 and retired here in Coastal Georgia on a 10 acre lake where I continue to fish despite my disabilities. My wonderful wife and I enjoy fishing together. God has blessed us in so many ways and we pray the same for you. I am excited about having so many new friends all over this great country.

Wow! Those are some awesome fish! We're still waiting for it to warm up a little more up here in MA, but I doubt we'll be hauling in numbers like those, nice job, and the only thing better than a good day of fishing is a good day of fishing with friends and family.

3 weeks ago my partner and I caught @ 80 or more bluegills, most full hand size. He used ultralight spinning and I used a 5 weight fly rod. We also caught 2 largemouths, 1 small mouth, 2 yellow bass, and 7 channel cats from 4 to 8 pounds. Love those bluegills on light tackle!
