Wakebaits? Wide bodied crank baits that will dive up to a foot deep(if your reel is smoking). Anyone else fish these yet? If not, try one! They are basically top water lures, but you can run them just below the surface. I started fishing this style bait late last season, and started this year with them. You can cover plenty of water with these. Grass beds are my main target when I have one of these tied on. Give one a shot. They usually pay for themselves the first day out. |

I got a nice one from the club as a test item. Only used it once and reviewed it. I will give it a try next outing.

I use wakebaits all the time. I fish a lot of skinny water, and wakebaits are sometimes the only crankbait that will work.

I have used them on occasion, its a certain bite. use them 10 minutes its either there or not. If thats what the want they can be deadly or you may throw them all day for nothing. good bait but very selective. good luck . Bent rods to you. Scott |

Good to see this post lasted a while. I have fished these in different waters all year, and they always produce. Some days are better than others though. Lol. |

You can't beat um. I've fished the Mann's Waker since it came out and have caught some really nice fish on it - both largemouth and smallmouth. If you're fishing in the back of the boat with someone throwing a buzz bait, you'll catch the one's the buzz bait misses - guaranteed! |

I use Manns Baby Minus I've caught quite a few bass with them working them over submerged grass and weeds and around stumps. These baits float and dive to 1 foot when retrieved. |
