I used Red Cajun line when it first came out. Then it was made in the USA. After I used up that spool I had my wife pick up some more because it worked very well for me. When she came home with the new spool I checked the label and then noticed it was now made in China. It turned out to be the worst stuff ever. It was never the same. I lost fish and lures because of the line breaking. It also caused a lot of backlashes. I now only use it as a back filler on my bait casting reels so I don't have to use so much of my good line. When that is gone it is gone. I wouldn't purchase it again.

Seems that every where one looks, there are problems with the stuff from China, seems that when some of their companies get a contract, they automatically look for a way to cut costs and so forth. Look at the poisons dog food stuff, lead paint in toys and even aldulterated baby formula for their own children. |

Obviously Cajun Red works. Look at how many fishermen it has caught! |

I use Cajun Red some 10-17 lb test for Catfish and Bass..Wasn't aware it was made in China now. After placing in my reels to within 1/4 inch of the spool edge. I cut the line then take it for a long walk. Maybe 60- 70 yds. I then drop the loose end and reel slowly until all line is back to my reel or end of rod tip. This takes out many twists and kinks. I do this with ANY BRAND of fishing line and pound test too. |

The old saying goes something like this." If it ain't broke don't fix it" If what you are using works for you, don't change to something else that you know nothing about. I didn't follow my own advice once and it didn't cost me a fish but it did cost me a few bucks wasted on Berkley Vanish that I couldn't get to work on my bait casting reel. I went back to Maxama Ultra Green which I have been using for years, I will not make that mistake again. I will use Maxama Ultra Green for as long as they make it. Remember that all of the tackle companys spend thousands trying to get you to buy their products. Sometime the new product will work for you and sometimes it may not. |

I only use the stuff for hook leaders. The claim is that it turns to a gray under water so the fish cann't see it. I use Andy clear and never had a problem.

I used the Cajun line when Shakespeare took over it. It was okay, nothing special but nothing wrong with it either. |

I DO PRITTY MUCH THE SAME THING AS YOU DO, AND FOR A WILE THE RED JUNK WORKED OK, BUT WITHIN FOUR FISHING TRIPS THE BIRDS NETS WERE BACK. AFTER DOING THIS A COUPLE TIMES ON DIFFERENT REELS, I TOOK ALL THE RED CAJON BIRDS NEST MATERIAL AND REMOVED IT FROM ALL MY REELS AND RECYCLED IT WHERE IT BELONGED, IN THE FIRE PIT. As far as bait casters go, dont use anything but braid. I use cajun line from time to time. If you dont go over 4 pound test you will (should) be okay. Anything over 4 pound test has given me fits. Break off's. Line twist. You name it. Try 4 pound for panfish on a spin casting reel. Keep braid on all bait casters. |

I use it on a spinning rig fishing for bass with no problems. 12 lb test pulled in quite a few fish. BTW, any red line "turns" gray after 10 ft because that wavelength of light stops at 10 ft. |

When I tried that Cagun Red I don't remember having a lot of trouble with bird's nests and such, but I do remember that the bites dropped off dramatically! |

| Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

Used it on a rod once. Too many issues. Tied spinner rigs with the rest of it. Have not used it since. |

The results I've had are much the same as 'bassgrabber'. Used it a couple years ago, liked it. Recently started to use it in a different weight test on different set-ups and seemed very differrent. Seems less limp, takes a set quickly, more brittle. Went back to using Trilene XL and Trilene Sensation. |

I like it. Spooled a bait caster w it yesterday, caught fish with it all day today. 17# cajun red. I've tried all kinds of monos and it's fine. It won't hold up well w zebra mussels, ya gotta tie on a fluoro leader if your fishing a lake w those. It seems to have a lot of memory, but most monos do. There are products you can spray onto the line which makes it limp or you can just fish it. As mono is fished it absorbs water, and that removes the loops. Try it and see if you don't experience the same thing. sometimes spinning reels and spincast reels twist your line. This can be removed a couple of ways. If you have a boat, remove all terminal tackle, run all the line out behind the boat as you're going forward. Reel up, all twists should be gone. This seems to work the best. SCasteel has another way. I've tried connecting the terminal end to a post with a ball bearing swivel and letting out about 100 yds then reeling up w good tension, but it didn't work as I was told it would. I hope this helps. |
