Mono vs. fluorocarbon?

I know this is very basic stuff but i forget what the difference between the 2 is, thanks

There are only a couple differences. Mono floats (at least until it becomes waterlogged) and fluoro sinks, fluoro is harder to see in clear water, and fluoro is a bit more sensitive. When fluoro first was introduced it was quite stiff, to the point that it was only suitable for leader material. This has been solved and most fluoro now casts about like mono. Tom

When you're buying line, the flourocarbon line is usually the expensive one.

Fluoro costs more initially but is cheaper in the long run as it doesn't degrade from exposure to sunlight/UV. Check into Triple Fish Fluoro, it is the least costly fluoro I have found. Tom
