This trick always worked for me:you need a soft plastic worm that is half round and the other half is flat like a paddletail. hook it thru the center where the two halves meet with a size 1 aberdeen hook. Then thread a small finishing nail into the round end from the front. Put two 1/16 oz split shots 2 inches above the hook. There is no specific action you have to usel; just reeling very slowly worked wonders for me. Hope you find this useful.

Interesting method. If I'm going to use weight i use a flick shake hook.
Better to be lost on a lake than found at work

Here's one to try: wacky rig two worms on the hook in a cris-cross fashion. Double your pleasure!
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

i would also suggest if you are trying to target deeper water that you can get those little pencil weights that are meant to be "injected" into a plastic worm, they can be broken to make them the desired weight. put the weight only in one end of the worm to make it fall at a unique action, also i found these hooks at bass pro shop that are a circle hook and have a weed guard on them to make them weedless, since i do a lot of wacky rigging around weeds these hooks are perfect, guess they would be good for around brush and other structures you dont want to get snagged on, check em out. i use all types of worms and colors for wacky rigging, almost always hook the worm so one end is longer than the other, not in the exact middle of the worm so it falls in a uneven drop pattern. i almost always have a rod set up with a wacky rig, it drives bass nuts and not all fisherman know about this way of rigging so the fish are not accustomed to it.
