Hi i was wondering if anyone has tips about rigs, areas, and places to shore fish for bass.  I live in Sacramento CA and would appreciate any help.  Thanks!

Bass are very structure oriented, so a cast towards any sort of piling, dock, or any sort of structure is a good start. Bass also like cover, (different from structure) so a jig or soft plastic near some weeds should produce. Also, if you're fishing near a sharp drop-off or a channel, a crankbait or spinnerbait is money.

Shallow weeds will hold bass at all times of year. Also any kind of man made things like boat docks or riprap are worth fishing.

If you are not getting hung up from time to time, you are fishing in the wrong place! Bass relate to cover and when you fish close to cover, you hang up. In the spring when the bass are shallow cast parallel to the bank to keep your bait in the zone longer.

Thats what soft plastics are for. When the weeds are real thick Texas rig the soft plastic and work the weeds hard!
