i just went out to fountain head last week and caught a nice 4 1/2 lb bass on a green pumpkin zoom worm. i caught a few others in the 1-2 1/2 lb range also. i worked a crankbait as well but got no hits on it at all. since u are fishing from the pier, you really limit your chances but if you can walk around the bank, key in on the structure like: laydowns, weedbeds, and also points and mouths of creeks.
