Yep I have been having issues with the speed for a few days. took a a while just to bring up this post. not as slow as a day or two ago but still slow.

Hey folks.

Sorry for the delay in responding.

We've got two things going on right now.  

1) The sites are busier than ever, and folks seems to be hitting the forums harder than ever.   It's putting serious load on the database servers, the one thing we can't improve with the flick of a switch.   I'm looking in to options we have, but this one is going to be a multi-week project.

2) We've got an awful lot of old posts laying around which frankly, I don't think we need to keep.   However, that's the call of guys like Greg and Chad.   I'll speak with them today and see if we can't do a little house keeping.    This we could get done in fairly short order with approval.

Joel: just make sure on the old one's ya don't get rid of em with good information and tips, theres a lot of trash I'm sure we could do without !!! JMHO !!! and if there was a dedicated server for just this site ya wouldn't be havin these problems either !!!!!!

I'd suggest dumping all the single posts in the Misc. Archives (the ones with no Replies especially). Those are all topics that didn't make the migration in November 2007...and any replies to them were lost.

What did they expect with face book . They should of expected more hits . IS NOT THAT WHY THEY MADE A FAN PAGE . And perhaps the forums will come back to what they once were .
If they run it on its own server that can handle the load . take a look at face book we have no problems with it loading . and i am sure they have more folks on at one time then NAFC.
