I'm looking to get a new rod. I'm going to be using it for texas rigged worms with a 1/32 slide sinker. I'm looking for something real sensitive with a strong backbone for good hook sets and can handle any size bass.
I'm looking for something between $100-$200 price range. I 've researched 3 specific rods, St. Croix Avid, Shimano Compre and the TFO G. Loomis. All have great reviews with almost no negatives. Anyone who can shed some more light on these rods or any others that would fit this profile that would be very helpful. Thanks

I prefer the St. Croix Premiere Series. I can't really tell you much about the rods you mentioned.
I swear, it was this big (---------------------------------------)

I would take a serious look at Element 21 Carrot Stix rods. These are really great rods.

why a spinning rod? you might want to bulk up and go to a baitcaster. spiining rods are great for a lot of applications but i wouldnt use one for a t rig set up. Just a thought also if you go to a baitcaster you'll have a much bigger variety of sizes and rod companies. good luck. Scott

srobertson- He mentioned he will be throwing a 1/32 oz weight. That would be really hard to throw on casting gear.

Shimano Compre is hard to beat. I have a few with Stradic's on them and they are a joy to fish !

With the $200 upper limit I would even venture into one of the St. Croix Legend Tournament rods. Look into those 6'8" or 6'9" rods with the XF tips. These rods sort of have that extra backbone becuase of the flex action on them.

In that price range, I'd check out Fenwick HMG series. Killer rods.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!
