At the suggestion of the club IT guys, I switched to FF and found that it cut down on a lot of the errors I experienced with IE, however the improvement in speed was marginal at best. Also, I am less than happy with the way FF handles my email, so I am using 2 browsers now, FF for the club site and IE for everything else. There also have been member reports of poor performance from this site on Chrome.

Been using FF for 2-3 years and the only problems I've experienced were when the site was being changed/migrated to a new server. FF seems to be much faster, although I am on a T1 connection.

@ Frank...since you are having trouble on other sites too...there are 2 things that I will suggest.
1. Set up IE8 so that you empty out your Temp Files and Cookies. You can do this by going to the Tool Bar at the top of the IE8 window, click on Tools, then Internet Options.
2. As a Default...there are many kinds of software that automatically start up when you 1st turn your computer on. You can see what I mean if you press the CTRL & ALT & DELETE buttons all at once to bring up Task Manager. If you have more than 20 Processes showing...chances are you have things you can turn off during the Startup (anything Adobe is a great example of this).
You can turn the stuff off (I believe in Win 7) by clicking on Start, then Run...and type in msconfig.

I talked to my IT guy at work about how some sites are so slow to load and others are not and he explained to me that it wasn't a problem with my computor, it is how the sites them selves are set up. He explained that some sites, like this one that use a lot of advertising to help with costs or what ever are probably set up that all the advertising loads first before the real meat of the site that I really want to see is up. I have been watching them load and it appears that what he said is true, the video ads come up way before anything else does.

If you want a fast browser try Google chrome, It even has a built in ad blocker so you dont get any pop ups
