It's been months since last logging in. I logged in recently and was put on the personal account of a member in Alabama. I used my login, got into someone's account. I say that's something NAFC management ought to be concerned about. I decided not to log in anymore, but decided I'd try once more months later. I found an invoice this time on my own account for $19.99 for a knife I didn't order, didn't receive when scheduled, now due last week. I didn't order it, haven't ordered anything in several years. Order number LNL8929 had dates of 04/08/2011 and shipping 05/04/2011, due 6/03.  Today I called in and got only a menu contact, able to cancel the order, but not able to show the whole deal was bogus. I assume someone got a knife on 6/3. Maybe the guy in Alabama got it?  Do you editors know a phone number like we had that got a human on the line?

That is very alarming if in fact it is true. I don't want someone being able to access my account via some glitch and being able to view my personal information. I hope the higher ups and Web Guy Greg read this post.

TRULY sorry to hear this Jim

@ Greg....I know these types of things aren't you're fault...but this bullsh*t shouldn't be happening to begin with

Trust me...if the NAFC staff can't get ahold of this type of thing and end it QUICKLY...I can guarantee you that word of mouth will doom the club.

This is TOO stupid for more words

Shawn contacted me saying my account shows a zero balance (verified), and that the knife was a "preview" item. I was only aware of the "test" program of free products mailed randomly and without charge. I suppose NAFC will periodically issue unordered products and bill for them, which came as a surprise to me. I think my reaction was justified, seeing no previous statement of this possibility, and remembering the viewing of another member's account. The past year I've been nearly blind with undiagnosed cataracts, knowing I have not been able to read the magazine or forums or anything else for at least half a year. I had my wife check for PMs occasionally in most of the forums I was active in, reading off anything interesting. I could type, but not read at all since January. She stopped helping when she decided it wasn't worth the effort. In May both eye lenses were replaced and I see perfectly now, only to come upon things like this that have been brewing unattended.

I did in fact enter the profile of another member, the name forgotten. It showed a balance owed. I assumed I chanced upon that, but have since doubted anyone else uses a log-in name anything like mine. Adding a high security value password tells me it would be impossible to stumble upon another account. "ouachitabassangler" is too unique, no other member name remotely like it. I simply did that, exiting immediately in respect of the privacy of another. I admit given my degree of blindness I might have missed every character to supply a user name and login that matched that of another member. However, with eyes closed I find my fingers have all that memorized.

My only concern is the security issue. The amount of the bill that was due is nothing to me. It amounted to the price of a magazine subscription among the many that have piled up unread for at least one year. That this happened at all was significant to me. I wanted an answer quick and got it.

Thank you NAFC folks that attended to the latest matter quickly. I apologize for my ignorance over the "preview" service. I won't care to take part, choosing to directly order items of interest to me, not caring to have to return unordered items. I'll respond to Shawn's PM to that effect.

    Jim
