I fish spinning tackle almost always and I love to use braid. Ive been using Sufix 832 in #20 test. I was curious if it would be ok to downsize to #10 test I only fish for bass and crappie

I'd stay with the 20 lb test. Nothing wrong with 10 lb. but the 20 lb diameter is small enough so why not have the extra ummf. I have no problem tying a 6 lb test fluorocarbon leader on it either. Double uni does a nice job with that.

What were you using before the 832. I use power pro and have been thinking about trying out 832.
Better to be lost on a lake than found at work

I was using power pro as well. Let me tell you 832 beats it hands down I neverthought I would say that but it does. It casts at least 10 yards further and holds a knot like no other but above all that it is so sensitive you can feel the subtle tick even when fishing very deep aweosme line try it you will be glad you did

I've tested my knot strength on 10# Sufix 832 well over 15#. Most spinning reels don't have much more than 10# of working drag anyway. Line test is all up to the individual choice. The same knot tested on 20# Sufix 832 braid only fared slightly under 19# breaks.

So in your opinon do you think #10 832 will do fine My Stradic came with an extra spool so I was gonna rig one up with #10 and the other has #20 832 and just see how they differ and how they fish and cast. I love the line though

Are you sure you want a sinking line on both spools? 832 is great but it may not be the best choice for fishing topwater baits.

That's what I use the extra spool for. I typically will use the same type of line but in different strength. It also helps to eventually build up more combo's and use various lines as since fish mood tend to change quickly.

The 832 braid doesn't really sink on it's own while fishing. I've thrown topwaters on it and it floats pretty much like other braids. It sinks well when using sinking lures. The difference that I've seen most is from the cast as the line doesn't seem to catch as much air and lures typically have a lower trajectory.

I agree it sinks when you want it to and floats when you need it to. I think the gore fiber in it gives it the weight to sink when fishing something that dives

It depends on your reel size. I use 30lb. on one reel, 20lb. on another, and 10lb. on an ultralight. The reel key is braid works so much better on spinning reels than mono or flouro. NO LINE TWIST! Just remember, you're only as strong as your leader. You are completely wasting your time tying a 6lb. leader to 20lb. braid. That superline ain't worth a hill of beans with a puny leader tied to it! I use a 10lb. flourocarbon leader tied to 10lb. braid with a double uni knot. Test it good, and secure with superglue. Now let's see a 4lb. bass break that!
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!
