I have been giving these a try with some good results lately. I use a 5 inch fluke on an 8 inch fluorocarbon leader with a swivel. I usually let it fall then give it a few twitches let it fall again. I repeat that a few times and then bring it back to the boat and throw it out again and repeat. My question, is that how most of you guys fish it, or do you find a different technique more productive. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It's pretty hard to fish it wrong because they'll hit it while it's doing any number of things. This is truly a great bait. The go to of go to's as it were. You can swim it, walk the dog, Caroline it, even jig it. It's probably the most versatile productive bait ever made. |

I've read that rigging them upside down, so that the hook opening is facing up works good to liven 'em up a bit. I tried it earlier this year and caught my first smallmouth of the year on the first cast that trip. |

Try double rigging them! You can tie a surgeon's knot leaving one tag end very long and then tie a fluke to the end of the leader and to the end of the super long tag end that you left on. Or you can tie up a 3 way swivel to your main line and then two leaders to the other parts of the swivel with a fluke on the end of each. |

I fish mine on braid no leader they work great in reeds, weaving in and out. ILbassin is right on with double rigging them but i use a barrel swivel, i slide it onto my main line then tie a hook to the main line, run a line from the swivel to another hook. this allows the swivel with the second hook to slide up and down the main line giving extra action. |

Thanks for the advice. I don't hear anyone talking about if they use any type of sinker with them. Do you guys fish it basically fish it weightless?

I've used both weighted hooks (the plastic worm hooks with weight molded around the wire of the hook), and jig heads. |

I use the weight stickers and wrap them around the hooks so i can change weight as needed with out re-tying. I also prefer bubblegum color it is awesome watching work and then seeing them disappear. |

Jaysun7776- I live in Michigan- i have no idea why they work so well here. i started to use them because i i like the visibility of them. They stick out nicely in all types of water. Other colors i have found to work well are rainbow trout and electric chick. They are pink based also. I used Pink flukes while fishing at Lake Vermilion in Minnesota and after nailing a bunch of bass (LM and SM) i hooked into a 46" muskie. |

GRNEYEMONSTR- Thanks for the info man. I have been reluctant to try them because they just dont look like any of the forage down here in Texas but I know that is not always a deal breaker for bass. Im gonna get a few bags and try them I will let ya know what happens the Zoom Super Fluke is my go to bait when fishing gets tough ! |

Has anyone ever used it as a trailer on jig. I have heard of people doing that at Lake Fork and cachting some realy monsters that way in deep water when the weather turns cold |

I use 3/0 Gamakatsu Skip Gap Worm Hook for the Zoom Super Fluke. You can't get a sharper hook, and it holds perfectly any plastic I rig it with . Also acts as a keel and makes the bait swim very realistically. |

Zoom Super Flukes are an all-around great bait for multiple species of fish. I've caught Bass, Crappie, Walleye, Muskie, and Pike on them. They display a realistic bait-fish action when twitched. Highly recommend. Matt |

I use a 3/0 Gamakatsu EWG worm hook. I find it will almost set itself when the fish hit and I have not lost one on them yet. I may try to experiment with a spring lock hook. Has anyone tried using that type of hook? Thanks for the responce this thread has gotten so far. One more thing what are the best colors you guys have used for the super fluke? I use white pearl exclusively, regardless of water clarity, and they alwa{1}**** on it. Just curious to see what others think. Again thanks. TRUPP

I use the Pearl White a lot as well sometimes I will use Spike it and make the tail chartruese. Watermelon Seed works real good down here in Texas as well as Disco Green. I use a Gamakatsu EWG 3/0-5/0 on #20 Pound Sufix 832 Braid and it is awesome. I love to skip cast this bait under boat docks it is deadley year round. |
