Ouachitabassangler is right, the action of the rod is more important than the length. Anywhere between 6' and 7'6" in length will work, apply personal preference. Just make sure that rod is MEDIUM power, MODERATE action. The slower tip really helps with hookset and casting smaller crankbaits.
