I've done a bit of reasearch on it, it doesn't look as amazing as it seemed a month ago. The main issues I'm hearing of are knot slippage (if slippage is a word) and the diameter is larger than many thought it would be. I may try it out soon, it seems like a double Palomar knot is the knot of choice for this line, I'll check back in once I get my hands on some.

Maybe a heaver line will be better but the 4 lb test is more like a sowing thread.

I bought some and tried it over the holiday weekend. I was NOT impressed at all. It does casts far and thats it the line snapped on me several times during hooksets. and the knots slip so easy I used the double palomar with anglers super glue. The line is NOT near as sensitive as a braid either. Im gonna stay with Sufix 832 !!!!! TWO THUMBS DOWN FOR NANOFIL

I used it extensively two weekends ago for wacky-worming and managed several largemouth bass on the 4-pound test, including a 4-pounder, my biggest of the trip (largemouth do not get nearly as large in northern MN, so a 4-pound bass is a pretty good fish in these parts). I used it with an Octopus hook which did not require a massive hook-set, so I did not ever break off. When I was fishing with Steve Pennaz a few weeks ago, I was using 8-pound test and found that I could set the hook as hard as I do with braid and the hookset was quick and clean, with both a wacky rig on a worm hook and with a Texas rig/small bullet weight.

"In the testing process of NANOFIL, Berkley learned that not all knots work well with NANOFIL (and this is true with many super lines). They recommend the NanoKnot (also called the Double Palomar) for connecting line to lure. Google NANO KNOT for free animated tying instructions."

Wel I broke off several times but it could be a result of the fishing envoirnment. Im in Texas and there are a lot of stumps grass milfoil lillypads you name it in most of our lakes. This Nanofil line did not perform well at all. I used the Double Palomar knot. In my opinon the line is not very strong.
