Hey guys! Its about time to stock up the tackle box again, and I was wondering were there any lures that you guys would suggest I try out? I've never threw a swimbait, so which one would be a good starter swimbait to throw? |

Big bodied hollow bellies with paddle tails such as the YUM Money Minnow or the Strike King Shadalicious are great covering water and fishing open water areas. But if you are fishing really weedy areas with lilly pads, flooded brush, or any thick shallow cover, you should try the Skinny Dipper made by Reaction Innovations, or the Cane Thumper made by Big Bite Baits. They are basically the same lure. They are a paddle tail swimbait, but they have a narrower body and smaller paddle tail, so they come through weeds incredibly well. Rig them on a texas rig hook and a small bullet weight to help cast them out far, and just reel it in! |

Sometimes hookup with those Moneyminnows can be difficult. Try using a stinger hook. Just hang a small treble from the main hook under the belly.

Try the Strike King King Shad. It's expensive, but well worth it. |
