Hey me and my friend have a few ponds in our neighborhood and were catching 3 pound bass average with ur 5 pound mixed in. But lately I was fishing a i was using a spinnerbait and must have hooked a bass that look more like an 8 pounder...... all of the fish have stopped biting. i was wondering if you had any suggestions or reasoning...i think it might be that theyve seen all the lures i have or its just to hot . im in southern Louisiana just north of new orleans any help would be appreciated |

weve tried all that we fished super slow super fast for like 2 hours per spot... it still no good.... should i use big baits? i like creature baiits or smaller baits like a 4 in worms. Ive done texas caralina and dropshot rigs... any other that might work? im not looking necesarilly for big ones (itd be nice) but i really want numbers (By the way, this is LA Fishers other account they sent me an offer for a dollar a month and my other was out ) |

Fish at night. In the heat of summer especially in small ponds with shallow easily warmed water, the bass slow way down in the heat. When the water cools a bit at night they become more active. It's best on my 15 acre pond at about 4am till sunrise. Throw anything that's black. |

I usually use topwaters when it starts to get dark this time of year, especially buzzbaits.

thanks ive tried using smaller buzzbaits and it was the only thing that i cought them on. Should i go bigger? A Heddon Torpedo (i think its heddon ) works fairly well but a rouge also works. But they wont hit it any more |

Check out the post at the top of this page, a trick that never fails for when all else fails. Then when you're done laughin', try early in the morning, like right at daylight. Do like Gubahead said and throw something black. I'd start with a hula popper or jitterbug.

During Summer for bass to Survive they head to cooler water which could be deeper or under cover (lilly pads, thick grass, hydrila etc.) try using a weedless frog or a slow rolling a spinnerbait bumping it off of the bottom. |

Fish a finesse worm on a Flick Shake jighead. It never fails for me when the fishing gets tough |

On ponds I usally use 4inch worms on a 1/16th ounce jig head. Bass usally will hit that. Go to a 6-8" for 4+ bass |

I'm living the same situationhere in SC. Its quite frustrating. I finally just stopped fishing the pond and started hitting the lake with fair success. |

If the water cleared up with isolated vegetation then a larger bait or lure might work on a slow roll. |
