Get the DVD that bass or bass suggested, it will help you a lot. As for your question, pretty much "yes". Sometimes the easiest way to thread the line through is to pull the line through the line through the guides, dragging the leader behind it, that way it is easier to get it all the way through without dropping it and having to start all over. I have lost my grip on the leader many times and had the weight of the line pull it almost all the way back to the reel. Also, got to your browser and check out fly fishing websites. Go bach through the Fly Fishing thread and you will find tons of previous posts which have good information. |

Depends on how your fishing. If you're fishing dry flies, yes, just tie it on and treat with some floatant. If you are going to nymph however, don't forget to add weight. And if your leader gets shortened by breakage, make sure to tie on tippet to lengthen leader. Good luck! <'{(())><

Just a tip for not loosing that pesky leader and line after it slips your grip and slides back out of the eye's. grab your fly line below where you have your leaded tied and double it up and start threading this section through your eyelets. also you may want to tie on some tippet material and just kep replacing when it gets a bit short. saves a little on buying new tapered leaders.
