After spending the entire summer experimenting with different lines for frog fishing, I'm going back to plain old mono. After weighing all of the pluses and minuses of the various lines, mono just makes sense. It's much less expensive, casts farther, is more quiet than braid, and doesn't dig into the spool.(sending baits flying across the lake) As far as stretch, heavy mono like 20 or 25lb. test doesn't stretch like 10 or 12lb. does. I'm using 20lb. mono and it floats nice too. Next year should be more exciting now that I have my line choice...more time to experiment with different frogs!

You're absolutely right about spreading the hooks. If hookups are still a problem, try slowing down your retrieve. When the bass blow up on your lure, they often miss due to a number of things, but one of the biggest reasons is that the retrieve is just too eratic. Bass, and all fish for that matter, need to be able to zero in on their target, and if you're jerking it around, the bass just plain misses. Good luck!

Booyah has a new frog out...called the Pad Crasher. I picked up two of them and they look great, awesome paint jobs. The finish looks like it should stay on well, anything is better than those junk BPS Kermy frogs. Maybe I got a bad batch, but the paint rubbed off of them before they ever hit the water! Has this happened to anyone else?  SmileyCentral.com
