Okay so back in May my rod got broken (long story) I thought no worries I just paid the last of my life member dues in a month or so I will be getting my club rod.  I called at the end of June and was told it was sent out the 27th I'll have it in a week after two weeks I was concered and called again.  Well it turns out it was not sent out and I was told it would be another 4-6 weeks so here I am in week 10 of waiting and not fishing!  At this time I can't afford to buy a new rod, I'm not complaining I do enjoy the club it has so many benifits mostly the people you get to know, but please HURRY NAFC I NEED TO GET BACK ON THE WATER!

Some things you just cannot control. Don't stress too much about it. If you are really hard up, you can buy a cheap rod and real combo from a local sporting goods store for around twenty dollars or so. Surely you can afford that? It may not be the best but at least you will be able to fish! Hope your Life Member's rod comes soon!

Cool! I suggest removing the stock line that the rod comes with and putting some good or at least decent line on there if you have it. It may save you some aggravation when you get to the lake! That cheap stuff tends to "birds nest." Just a thought. Fish on!

Hey guys, just another thought on inexpensive tackle options. I've picked up some of my best rods and reels at flea markets. And don't forget yard sales! I'll tell you something else, your gonna like that little shimano life member outfit when you do get it.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

For a while there were numerous posts concerning the Shimano member rods breaking.I am wondering if this has been resolved.

I have heard that too. The rod tips breaking and what not. But I have also read a lot positive feedback about the rods as well. Most members seem to love them! Maybe, if I ever finally decide to pay off my Life Membership dues, I will receive mine...

I have not paid my full life member ship yet but very excited to receive the fishing combo. But i think if you try to protect your rod with a rod case that may solve the problem.
