I think we should have information on some of our invasive speices of fish in the magazine as well as our native speices. Maybe fisherman can help control the populations of these invaders and help protect our own native speices. I mean speices like the Snakehead in Florida and Asain Carp in th Chicago area. I even heard of possably of a pirhana speices invading the whater ways of Texas and New Mexico. I know so little about the fish I mean. How far have they spread? How do we catch them.? Can we eat them? If so how do we prepare them? Just thought the Info would be nice.

The magazine devotes it's pages to fishing for the most popular species, not necessarily topics that might be of interest to fishermen in general. There have been a few articles on invasives in Doc Schramm's column, but not much more. I try to post news on asian carp in the sticky under "Ask a Fisherman'

Bones: "Silent Invaders" is an excellent resource for information on invasive aquatic species. The show is produced here for Wildlife Forever and will begin airing on Oct. 2 on the Pursuit Network. Kurt Beckstrom--NAF Editor

thanks guys. i'm not rying to cause problems i just want to protect our native fisheries. I think it should be a cocern of all fisherman. As well i believe you are concerned to. i just don't know on what to look fo as far as the apperence of the fish , thier eating habits, spawing cycle. and what to do with them when we do catch them. Like are they edible or do we just thow then on the bank and let the racoos eat them. I heard the snkhead dosn't die from just being out of watter.so it wouldn't do any good just to throw them on the bank. just wondering what to do with them.
