What is up with some of the different contests we have lately in the club that you have to go through Facebook to be able to enter? Some of us don't have a Facebook account and/or simply don't want to. I am like anyone else. I like to enter contests to try and win a prize also. Is this something set up by the club? I personally don't do the Facebook thing and I guess if it has to be that way it is what it is. I'll just won't be able to enter those contests. Are there others out there that are in the same boat so to speak?

You bet Bassgraber, there's a bunch of us in this boat! I opened a facebook account just to enter these contests...its no good for anything else, that's for sure. I think if they're going to put contests on there then advertise them on there, why tease us with them?SmileyCentral.com

The Facebook contests are to draw traffic to the contest sponsor's Facebook page. Facebook is a leading social networking site and has millions of members so the more they get their name out, the more potential customers they have. If you are on Facebook and you "like" a page, Facebook will then recommend that page to your other friends as a possible interest. That's what the Facebook contests are about

Hoss said it well -- Facebook allows us to provide more value to the companies that partner with us to bring you the magazine, TV show, website and Field Test program. It also opens doors to new companies.

Additionally, we offer the contests as a way to generate interest and then build our online community for sharing fishing tips and tactics. It's a nice way to show off your great catches as well!
