I was fishing down at blue marsh the other week before the flood, and of all things to catch i caught a browning fishing rod. I got a good laugh out of it when i pulled about $50 worth of crankbaits off of it, had to replace all the hooks though, completely rusted off. Its nice to see we are all throwing rapalas at that rod though!! haha

o, and my mechanically inclined buddy even got the reel turning again, he plans on using it when he goes bass fishing with me, but the rod still has a lot of moss on it, been to busy to get it off

My son-in-law was out a few weeks ago, when the water was at winter level and caught a 30" tiger musky. He was also catching smb & lmb. Two Sundays ago the water was almost to summer level and we didn't catch a thing...There were guys using minnows and they were catching crappie.

Anybody been out to Blue Marsh lately? I haven't been there since about Oct. Which is sad because I live 10 min away.....

The water is still down to winter levels. I have not fished it this winter and it didn't ice over this year. I'll get out in March / April!

I drive past every now and then, saw that the water is still down. Just itching to try out some new lures.

My son-in-law fishes there all the time (Werley's Exon on rt 183) and he ready to get out also!

New rod and reel came today. Now I REALLY want to get out there.

Does anyone have, or know where to get a hydrographic survey of Blue Marsh?

I'll be heading to the Marsh this afternoon. The strioers, SMB and musky are hitting right now! I'll come back and post pics and report on conditions.

I drove by yesterday and saw a lot more boats on the water. Hoping the rain isn't too bad this weekend. Maybe I'll get out then.

We lost two, boated one crappie. I got a pic but I'll post tomorrow. Lots of boats on the water even with the water level 10' below normal (summer). Lanny marked a large bait pod but we didn't hook up with anything. Wanted to get to the flats by the Church Road bridge but decided to wait until we had more time. Scott was catching stripers last week with several nice fish. Two days ago Lanny boated a 2' tiger musky and a 3# SMB!

Here it is...The only fish to make it into the boat!  Lanny used a lipless Rapala crankbait for most of the evening.  I was using paddletailed minnows and various Rapalas - DT16, 10, 6.  



I need a good day out there...

I hope the weather hold for the weekend...I would like to get out and try again!
