I love fishing with a passion, Its one of the only things i look forward to ALL WEEK . I have sold all my gaming stuff and more to have quality fishing gear, I take tips from all of you but you know what?
I havent caught a fish or even HOOKED anything in 7 months, Last time i caught something was on a fishing charter and i cant go on those each week.
I have spent countless hours reading up on what im fishing and still nothing i am really getting tired of this, Not fishing but if i dont catch anything with in the next couple months fishing is kind of a pain right now....
I have tried batshop's, Scents, Books and still NOTHING!!!!
Is there anything else i can do before i erupt in sadness of not catching anything, Because i know my friends who go to the same places and fish like fish in a barrel |

Are you really using the tips we gave you...I mean EXACTLY like described? For instance, when you fished your spinnerbait, did you do like I said and throw it to some kind of structure(rocks, tree limbs, stumps, weeds), of did you just toss it out in open water? You have to find the fish, they are just like any animal, they like to hide. Even something as unassuming as a single stick poking out of the water will hold a fish, seems ridiculous but its true. As for the bluegills, you said you could see them, so you KNOW they're there. out of all those tips, surely ONE of them should work. When I was your age, we caught them with a few feet of line tied to a stick. The bottom line is, you don't even need all those tips, whether they work or not. I said from the beginning, "If you can put a worm on a hook, you can catch them". If you can see those bluegills, put a small bug(grasshopper, worm, cricket) on a small no. 8 hook and toss it to them. If they don't eat it, I'm gonna quit fishin'! |

Forget the doughballs, you need a wiggly, squiggly bug or worm.

You're over analyzing again, just jab the hook through the thing, no big fancy technique needed. You can try the gulp, but my money is on the live bait. |

Yes, just jab the hook through the worm. Yes, a tiny, small minnow will work. And yes, that grub kit looks like a great deal for 5 bucks.

Just be patient, thats the name of the game here. And mo is right, live bait IS better. I keep the berkly stuff around 'cause it stays usable and works, but live bait is only live for a limited time and once it dies and goes bad, it's REAL bad! |

When the say use a worm they mean use a worm. The only bait that I know that works great on pretty much any species of fish is a worm. I wouldnt worry about using any thing else if your trying to catch a fish. Put a live worm or a half of 1 on ur hook with a splitshot on about a foot and a half up on ur line and cast out. Do what mo throw out near bushes, trees laying in the water anywhere a fish could hide. Below dams or pillers in the water can also work. Fish try to stay out of fast moving currents. It takes a while to start learning how to fish, where they hide, and what to use but right now just use a worm its the easiest and the best bait money could buy. |

Don't even use the bobber. My 11 year old granddaughter catches bluegill and green sunfish by the dozens with just half a nightcrawler on a # 6 hook with no weight or bobber and she catches one every few minutes. Follow these instructions and you'll catch sunfish. Use crickets if you can't get nightcrawlers. If you get no bites within 15 minutes, move to another spot.

I dont think ur getting this. Seems like u want to do lake fishing. My set up is a 7foot spinning rod with a spinning reel. I use 6lb fishing line. Size 8 to 6 hook. Heres what u do put a worm on ur hook. You can use a splitshot or not but if u use 1 does not have to be big. Go to a spot and stand there. Take it a throw it out. Let it sit (without moving it)for like 5 to 10mins. If u dont feel nothing wind it in and in the same spot where ur standing. Cast it out again, try to throw it out a little further. If still nothing take and cast it out maybe a little to the left, then again to the right. Maybe try casting it out like20 timesor more before you move. Fish the spot, thats y it is called fishing. If nothing in that spot walk down the lake and do it all over again. Just keep repeating this and Im sure u will get something even a bass. |

Instead of waiting 10 min's and realing in, wait a few mins and then real in maybe 5 ft then wait another few mins and real in another 5 ft. After you get the bait back to shore or close to that real in all the way and cast some to the right or left and repeat the process. I learned this from fishing with my 6 year old grandaughter one day. She was catching 'gills, sunnys, white perch and small bass left and right and I was getting nutin' Then I realized that she was casting much shorter than I was so I was casting past where the fish were. She outfished me that day probably 4-1. Lesson learned!! And I let her brag about that day every chance she gets! |
