I cant post pics, cant change my biography settings, cant send a pm. Im surprised I can even post a thread. It takes like 5min to load a page, 5 mins to post a thread. It takes 8 mins to sign in. I dont have any problems with other fishing sites.Plus this club is starting to be a big pain. I had to cancel the books that I was getting sent to my house cause they say if u dont want the book, to ship it back and the 1s I did ship back I still got billed for them and had to call everytime. Im still getting charged for some stupid calendar that they decide to just ship and I sent that back. Probably have to call to get it off. You get a magazine every 3 months and I thought it would be every month. ( I thought wrong) All I know is that I got 2years left of this crap and will not be joining again. Good luck to u all cause I know im tired of this S***.

You get 9 magazines a year. Just cancel the books and calendar and you won't receive them anymore. I did that on both and have not received anything since. It's a great magazine, this is a nice forum. I do understand your frustation with the unasked for mailings, I did too, but got it solved. Those items should only be available in the N.A.F.C. store and not on blind mailings.

Looks like my frustrations got the better hand of me but finally got some stuff to work by screwing around with it. Finally got signature to work and pm. Still slow at signing in but I can deal with that. I wasnt saying these forums arent nice. I think they are great and some good advice on here. Its just stuff started to build up. I did cancel the books twice and still got a couple in but I will take care of it when I call to get the calendar off my bill. Thanks bass or bass on clearing that up on the magazines and I do like to read them.

Just a reminder- this site seems to be optimized for any browser BUT IE. I have a less frustrating experience if I enter from Firefox. Posting pictures is still a pain, at one point it was much easier but that is before all the "improvements" were installed. This was also before the Facebook linkage. One other thing, I thought the mag came out 7 times a year?

Hey guys, just checked it out here on the site...the mag comes out 8 times a year. You're right Pegsguy, the site works MUCH better with Firefox. I've answered so many posts like this about this problem that I'm sick of saying it...over and over...why doesn't the NAFC put a big banner on the home page and tell members what we've all learned the hard way. Save them the hardships and save us from having to help them out of those hardships!   SmileyCentral.com

What think nafc should do is to upgrade thier severs to make it more compatible with other peoples computers on any site they choose to use. If they dont mind loosing people, then its thier own fault. I kno u guys are trying to help me out so thanks but Im not going to download firefox just for this. When I had firefox on 1 of my old computer I got alot of viruses. So I took it to a shop and the computer geek told me that firefox is known to get viruse. Also he said its is very easy to hack into. If you look at firefox settings it never deletes your cookies and theres something else he said but I cant remember it. So firefox for me is a big no no. To NAFC do something about ur servers and get it to work this time.

You're right lupo, the real fix is for the club to make this site work with whatever server you want to use...but I wouldn't hold my breath on that one, this trouble has been going on WAY longer than you or I have been members. Just look through the forum archives. I don't see why you couldn't use Firefox, we're all using it and we're not having trouble. The only other thing I can think of that might help is Davesett2000's tip for IE. It's in the "Report Bugs Here" forum. I tried it and it definitely helps IE, but Firefox is still the fastest.

Being a computer idiot and barely functional on these things, I checked with a fishing buddy who formerly ran the IT dept for Motorola's cellular division. His take with these problems is that the site (unlike almost every other website in the known universe) is optimized for something other than IE. What puzzled him was that IE is the most used browser and a general interest site like this should be set up for IE. Must be a bunch of Mac users running the IT for the club!
