I got the same thing, I'm very disappointed. I've used a couple of those fishing websites and its really difficult to get a good one going. I'm not happy I didn't get something tangible like some new hooks or tungsten sinkers (which would be good with the recent lead bans) but I'm trying to keep an open mind and I'll see how this new "product" works.

Rip off and a scam. I have had enough. They keep pushing us and pushing us members like we are stupid and worthless. I do not like being scammed. Sending a "virtual test product" is an insult and a slap in the face. Pardon my french, but kiss my rear end Steve Pennaz!

Hey fellas, try posting your complaints on the clubs facebook page. Let all those potential members know what they can expect with the "product test program". At least over there someone will see your frustration...around here complainin' is like pissin' in the wind!

Has anyone taken any time to try out the product? I did and found it a complete waste of time- no "how to", terrible maps and absolutely no content I found valuable.

Captain Quantum -- Steve Pennaz is in the field, filming, but emailed me this note in response to your post: "I appreciate your feedback, and no reason to apologize for your "French." The more we know, the better we can meet expectations. I am surprised about your response to field testing of electronic products related to fishing. This is an important and growing segment of fishing and as such, we feel it it is important to keep NAFC members informed on developments. Clearly you feel differently -- or, at least, don't value these the same as others such as lures, reels, etc. If this is the case, we need to discuss internally. Again, thanks for the feedback." -- Steve Pennaz, NAFC Executive Director

Am I on the same page? Is Steve Pennaz referring to this Fishidy.com as an "electronic product related to fishing"? After reading Pegsguy's response I went over and took a look. Hmm....I just don't see it.   SmileyCentral.com

i too got the same email, and I took everything I saw here with a grain of salt and took this site through some paces last night, First of all I have to say that the ability to have the hotspots maps at your finger tips is nice, ( but to me it seems like the mapping page is restricing due to its size.) I would have to say step one of a revamp would be a full screen view of lake maps to see more detail with less scrolling across a lake. #2 issue is the Forum portion of the website- Seems to me as everyone is involved here and potentially facebook, twitter, etc. that this feature would be minimally used at best. and if you are going to share lake info to people most likely it will be with close friends and not the whole world even though you have the ability to just have your friends see your info- you can do that other places. #3 is the mapping itself- To me it is Google earth, with an overlay of the hotspots map. Which is nice at the premium level, but when you get bumped back to the free version the hotspots goes away.(leaving only the depth contours) I would indicate if one had a little time, all the depth contour lines can be found on DNR created maps.( at least Wisconsin). #4- I do not know if it is a new site or if it is geared for a specific platform or browser to use this, but using multiple types of browsers I find the website slow, unresponsive, and locks up at times. I have not finalized my decision on what to write as a review yet, and plan on running more "analysis" but so far my initial feeling on this site is that this would have been a huge hit 10 years ago. But as of right now everything here can be found with a little searching. For instance most higher end fish finders have most of these lakes preloaded or on cards. (lets face it this is where you would use this info most anyway) also if mapping is what you are after there are always lakemaster and navionics data media that you can do all this on your computer. The Forum of course is here and as a few of you may not like it, I feel this forum on NAFC is pretty good, especially considering it is backed by a large contingent of users, ( another possible downfall of the fishidy site as no major draw). Google earth is free and can be run in full screen. GPS units with large capacity,(one guy gets a map share coordinates with 100 people, thats 100 people who would find this site useless, all data is then stored on a unti they can use real time on the boat. If there was a way to go on this website and enter in a serial number of a gps/fishfinder on your boat so it could track your day of fishing automatically that would be worth it, but not sure if that can be done. (of course then you would need to invest in a high end unit.) Another thing is the choice of hotspots for a base map is concerning to me. the maps are good, however they are in all reality laymens maps. If the intended user is just the average person who doesn't want to take the time to learn I can see, But there a a lot of more detailed maps that have more definition, more listed structure, and can program the angler to read a map and see spots that are fishy instead of reading the coordinates and trying that spot and going to the next spot when they really only needed to pull 15 feet of the structure to find fish for one reason or another. Let me knwo what you guys think of it. To sum it up, a good idea but slightly behind the curve when innovation is considered, needs a lot of work and updates to deem it worthy to be in my arsenal come fishing weekend!

Hye all. I was a bit dissapointed also. like skewl said, it is nice to have something tangible in hand to test. now its time to wait in line again for something to test. I am not in it for the test items, I get my moneys worth already without it and would still not hesitate to stand up for the club. that being said I found the site just ok for the maps and other info. I would not pay for the premium membership expecially at the price of 9.99 a month.

Hey Mo 65, I thank you for your response, and yes I am long winded; However, I think you have my intensions incorrect. I enterd things I have seen with the product, what could be different with the product, what I think should be better about the product. And although I feel it does not fit into my criteria of being worth the expense I do not in any way feel the club is scamming me, or cheaping out. I believe I am getting my value out of the club and if they want me to test something, I will do my part to try and give an unbiased "run for its money". These types of things may not be tangable in the physical sense, but the "inventor" of this product is still coming to the club, and effect us to get feedback about the product. To create more background it is always better to give reasons why the product is held in certain light so it can be changed, instead of saying it is a dissapointment and leave it at that. I respect everyone on this Forum and do not intend to call anyone out, I am merely stating that my response has due cause, and I do not want to be inherintly lumped into a group that is pissed at NAFC for the preconcieved notion that the testing merchandise needs to be "held". With that being said, the people who feel that way have every right to their opinion and I am not going to hold anyone in any less light because of what they say. Now lets get some fishin in before hard water comes.

I think the good new is that almost every member got this as a "field test" and our status as testers should not be affectecd! Say what you want, but to me the product is just short of worthless.

I think probably the BEST news is that everyone is getting on here and saying what they want, and the majority seem to want something "in their hand". Maybe the club will ditch this idea and get back to what we want!   SmileyCentral.com

How can this "product" match our individual test product profiles when every single member has seemingly received the same item!? Doesn't seem very member specific to me! Something is rotten in Denmark!
