    Ok lately i have been fishing at my local lake, I went home and looked at it over google maps and this is the lake....

    Heres what the dots mean...

    Yellow = Fishing spots

    Red Circle = Good place to target?

    Red/Black Circle Holy CRAP!

    The red/black circle i hear nothing but fish jumping, Only thing is you cant get over there???

    Its either trek though that woods and risk getting attacked or put on some boots and get in the water a little to get around the corner and the Red circle is trees and i think tree shade is good for fish?? should i try there next?

    Both of those corners look good. Fish like shade and if the trees come all the way down to the water they provide some cover as well. I'd fish there, only problem; is there room to cast without catching the trees on the back cast? Also, attacked by what? That doesn't look like much of a woods to me compared to the other side of the road.

    I understand you are a young angler, when I was first started fishing I too looked for the ol' fishin spots on lakes. The problem with spots is that fish will not be at that spot forever. You have to think like a fish. fish swim and they swim where the food is. Don’t over think it. My suggestion is to go ahead, try these spots, and take notes about these spots as you fish. Such as cover, weeds, if baitfish are present, wind, temperature, and the weather that day. These notes will help you in the future.

    One thing that REALLY helped me when I started getting into fishing was Al Linder’s theory that Fish+ Location+ Presentation=Fishing success. Meaning that you need to know the nature of the fish, where that fish will be and use to write bait presentation will catch the fish. I have a huge collection of In-Fisherman DVD's and watch them before every fishing season. They taught me a lot. I watched each one about five times to understand what they were teaching. If you fishin for bass, I also read a few books, the one that helped me get started was Uncle Homer Circle’s Bass Wisdom. I also recommend In-Fisherman's books on bass as well.

    Hope this helps

    What you hear jumpin' in the corner are probably carp. If the woods around it is too thick, just fish the open shoreline. Looks like there's plenty of it. There doesn't appear to be a lot of distinguishable features...a lot like my pet waterhole! My best advice for this is FISH ANYWHERE! What I mean is the fish could be anywhere, one spot is as good as the next. Still look for cover though, a stump or rock in a lake like this is top real estate, so always hit them first!
    Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!
