Well im sort of done with bluegill fishing because well i want them to get bigger for a better fight

and now im going back to bass fishing for a while....

I had myself a yard sale and sold more stuff so i have a little cash to spend on fishing gear because its all i do and care about (Besides school)

    And i was wondering....

What are some of the best things that have worked for you in bass fishing?

I saw something that was a crawdad on a jig and i kind of want to buy it, But i dont know what kind of situation to use it in :\

anyways what are some of the things that have worked for you?

Richard: For largemouth I soft plastics such as tubes Texas rigged use a 1/0 extra wide gap hook or you can use minnow style crank baits. For small mouth use Yum crawbugs, tubes, worms, crank baits such as minnow style, top water such as jitterbugs hula poppers.  Use surface poppers such as excallaber or Bass pro or Cabelas, for night time bass use solid black or real dark colors.             MCOPELAND1

I've always been a big spinnerbait fan. There are many different brands, colors, weights, etc. but spinnerbaits are pretty versatile. You can reel them in fast, slow, jig them, drag them on the bottom... I have all different brands but some of my favorites are Terminators and Booyahs. For smallmouth I usually use mini strike kings and rocket shads. Read up on the different blade configurations and decide what you want. You get more "thump" out of a Colorado blade, more flash from a willow. Colorado's run shallow, willows deep. I like silver when its sunny, gold when its cloudy. I use darker colors in darker water, light colors in clear and heavy baits to fish deep. My favorites are a 1/2 oz. T2 w/silver willow blades in firetiger and a 1/8 oz black/blue Strike King Mini King w/ a single colorado blade. I don't think you can go wrong with a spinnerbait. I catch fish early season, late season, early morning , midday, dusk...There is always a spinnerbait tied on one of my rods in the boat.
Good things come to those who bait... Hoss in Wa

I agree with Hoss, spinnerbaits are hard to beat. Not to mention the facts that they are easy to cast, a little more snag-proof than most baits, and hooksets are basically automatic. Go to Wal-mart '151 and buy a selection of those $1 specials they sell. Get different colors/blade types so you'll be ready for changing conditions. Plus you won't be so sick if you do lose one that cost $1 vs $5!
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

R Richards: Seems like you are kinda floundering around without much guidance. There is no substitute for advice from someone who fishes in the same area as you. If you have a bait shop in your area, try hanging around and maybe even running a few errands for the owner/manager or such. I bet that sooner or later you will be able to hook up with someone willing to mentor you. I do this with a number of beginning anglers in my area.

Well i mean there are no baitshops in my area there is one 15 Miles away but its saltwater and im freshwater...

2nd, I cant really go around my neighborhood because theres a lot of phedofiles and bad stuff were i live...

3rd not really many kids in the neighborhood so i cant hook up with them...

4th any nice big lake i have been too around my area requires a boat to even get to a good spot....

5th I dont fish the collage anymore because a old guy came up to me at the collage sunday and said do you want to see my cool game system in the car? and i ran away with my pole so no more collage for a while

6th my mom is always at work and im always backed up on school and the only time i have to fish ever is after school wich i cant now because of the collage thing and she never wants to take me fishing on the weekends anymore..

So you can kind of see my problems right.....
