    Freshwater

Just thought I'd throw it out there in case someone in the area was lookin'. Palm Beach County seems kinda left out. And we got hella fishin'. Anyone who fishes here knows that.

I fish Lake Okeehelee quite a bit and I have a private residential lake that get's stocked every 3 years, but it's full of all kinds of nasties. I spend most of my time there because I can walk to it. No boats.

I'll be tryin' to head over to Lake Osbourne but I dunno. Like I said, just puttin it out there.

Right now I'm on the "Big Catch" trip, tryin' to catch the almost state record size fish in my area, but I caught that danged Bass bug and got sidetracked.

Where oh where are they hiding out? I've been fishin' this residential pond/lake for years and cannot find big cats in it for the likes of me. I don't really fish it in the dark, maybe a couple times and caught a few small channel cats and walking cats, but nothing over16".

It's filled with alot of eel grass and has a couple of really deep holes on either side of the fountain that's located in the center of the lake that I've been trying to cast out to. One hole is 30' deep and the other about 20' according to the Lake profile on the map from the office.

I have caught some huge Triploid Grasscarp (catch and release of course), some really big Tilapia (blue) alot of medium sized Mayan Cichlids, real nice sized male Bluegills (gold bar across nose). Small bass upto 18", humoungous turtles, small ones.

I'm thinking I need to get rid of some small fish, not sure.

    That's todays thoughts

I use to spend a couple of weeks every year visiting my grandmother in Delray but never sampled the fresh water fishing there! Dad and I would frequently fish the itracoastal as well as taking trips on the drift and charter boats out of Boynton.

How are you targeting the cats?(bait used, time of day, etc.) You said it was a residential pond...are you sure big cats are in there?  SmileyCentral.com

    What bait are you using?
I was told dead shrimp works great down here, better than chicken livers for cats.
I know in Lake Osborn under the 6 ave the bridge they get Sunshine Bass on gut shrimp.
Fresh or salt both the same. Viet Vet USAF 71-75 Sgt.
