i am getting some new trailers for my football jigs. i am a little confused by the wide selection of choices. i am wondering should my trailer colors be the same as the jig or different. please post any tips on jigs.thank you

I like to mix colors...black/blue or brown/watermelon.

An awesome jig trailer is a squid head. Purchase frozen squid at any Asian supermarket and cut off the head, hook it on your jig. Incredible action! And a natural scent trail to boot! Squid carcases make terrific catfish bait, and individual (or double) squid tentacles are killers for sunfish. Frozen squid......the multi purpose bait!

wow sounds cool. squid heads? intense! i can imagine that would be good on swim jigs.

Well...feed me garlic and call me stinky...SQUIDHEADS? I gotta make a trip to chinatown! I wonder if you could color them(like with food coloring).

Well you obviously couldn't use them in tournaments but you won't find anything else that can rival the action of natural squid tentacles. Even dead sticking them in the slightest current, they have a tantalizing movement.

And I see no reason why you couldn't color them with food coloring.

Like to keep them the same color most of the time .With the new line of jigs and all the new colors can only make it better.Know i go to some with red added to the jigs alot of times and that will be all they will hit sometimes.It`s a every day thing to try and find what color or combo of colors works.Spend some money and Good Luck .You only get to fish in one life and this is it.

I start out with the same color(s) and if that doesn't work I will mix and match colors until find the color combination that works. I've used anything from a Blue/Black Flake creature to a Chartreuse twin tail grub on a Blue/Black jig. A lot of times you have to look at the type of trailer as well as color.
