Has anyone seen or tried the Think Tank "TriggerFish" ?? It is a lure with incredible steering capability. It can be fished a few different ways. You can chug it along, which makes it bubble and pop on the surface. You can fish it zig zag style weaving it in and out of structure or under docks. I like to also fish it going in one direction. I can cast towards the shore and instead of retreiving it straight back to me, it will run paralell with the shoreline. Incredibly well built and available in many different color combinations. My personal favorites are the "Baby Bass" and "Ghost Rainbow Trout" Check them out. I "Think" you'll enjoy them ! |

I bought one this summer and gave it a try but I didn't find it as simple to work as they make it look in the videos. I was using floating line (mono) tied directly to the lure eye with a palomar knot. It worked okay, but only if the water was flat calm. If there was even the slightest chop, it didn't seem to be very effective.
I plan on giving it some more time but was wondering if anyone on here has used it with success, and what tips might you be willing to offer? |

Well.. It defenetly works best on braided line. Up to 30 pound test. I haven't fished it for long either and haven't quite mastered it yet. The triggerfish defenetly has a learning curve. |

Keep on fishing this bait. The trick is that it's a very subtle twitch to change direction, also keep the rod tip high. One of the more deadly techniques is dead sticking after a short retrieve.Just let it sit and give it a twitch or two.I had a smallie just explode on it so much I almost needed a change of drawers for sure.Watch the videos on the site, get out there and practice, practice ,practice. If you live in Western Mass and want to get out there give me a shout. Happy New Year to all. |

A good Tip grom Grampafish. You need to keep the rod tip high and as much of the line out of the water as possible which can be a bit trying on windydays. It begins to get easier and easier the more you use the lure. Good Luck and Good Fishing !! |

Since the topwater bite has been hot here...I decided to give this Triggerfish a try. I think I got the hang of the "Z" retrieve...here's a bass I nailed today. |
