I posted a link there to my topic on here of "Links & Info For Fisher-People".

He said that there were links to lure-making companies that were't paying him...and stated that it was "free advertising".

Hardly a jerk Dave...Outdoor-Fishing is a great fishing forum, just so happens that at O/F, you can't just do what ever you please...there are rules to follow. Too bad NAFC isn't ran the way O/F is...I'm sure you'd be banned here as well...Happy fishing...

We at Outdoor-Fishing hold our site and ourselves to a higher standard than many other sites. We request new members to read, understand, and agree with our rules when they enroll. I used to be a member on several other sites that I have since ceased visiting due to their lower standards. I'm sorry you found Outdoor-Fishing not to your liking. I wish to you a long lifetime of Happy Fishing!

O-F is a smaller site...around 2000 members...and is largely supported by its sponsors. I can see how making a post with a gazillion links to tackle companies would be an injustice to those paying sponsors.

I'm on at least 10 different fishing forums...and not a single one has an idiotic rule like he laid out.

He asked me to remove those links from that topic & everything would be fine.

ALL you guys know that I can't edit that topic...it was started back around 2004.

Scroll down & take a look through my topic...dozens of posts with helpful fishing info.

If I had posted a link to Page 2 of the topic...he never would have seen those links.

The idea of a fishing forum is to share information....and links to tackle companies are a small part of fishing info.

I could understand his attitude if I had posted all the links on his forum...but I didn't.

He acted like I was manipulating his webpage & had put dozens of banners on there for tackle companies.

I don't have time for narrow-minded thoughts that equate a link = an advertisement on a forum.

It's NOT the same as a "banner ad" on a webpage.

Are you saying goodby to the Outdoor-fishing site, rivermandave, shame, I do know that you have posted some good stuff here.

At this point I'm "banned" from the site AZ

And I'm NOT willing to compromise what I've stated above.

The site owner & I argued in "chat" last night...and I finally told him to remove ALL of my posts there & my account.

I do NOT...and never will...accept HIS logic for the "rule" he purported.

IF you take the time on our Forums here...and see the hundreds of posts I've made sharing info on here over the last 8+ years...you'd plainly see that I'm not about to get "banned" from here.

Forums are made to share information.

And THIS is what I've MOSTLY been doing on here....and what I was WILLING to do on O/F.

Any NORMAL person whould of said "I'm sorry, it won't happen again", and keep it moving, but not you...what have you really contributed beside a bunch of useless, and most times dead links...your such a tool...you and your links..and your silly hat...back at you bro.

It was my original intent to ignore this little tiff, but in the interest of accuracy, I feel a post is in order. The fact is that there was a post made in a section specifically restricted to anglers under 16 years of age listing 6 pages of links to various and sundry sites. This was NOT new information, but a copy of a post made here in 2004. Unlike these forums, O-F is a well moderated site with established rules and policies. A violation of these rules generates a warning PM, and disregard of the warning results in a ban on future participation. This has the result of keeping offensive posts to an absolute minimum. I hope this brings some clarity to this "discussion"

It's difficult for me to understand that you don't comphrehend what I've SPOKEN before on here...and apparently YOU are NOT intelligent enough to UNDERSTAND it....the VAST majority of those links were rendered "not hot" by software changes sinced November 2007.

When I posted them...they were "hot"...meaning that you could just click them. Of course...if you arent intelligent enough to KNOW that you can COPY & Paste one of those "so-called" "dead links into a new Browser bar...and then navigate to the website.

OK Dave, you have made 2000 posts and I've only made 1400. Guess I haven't contributed anything to help anybody!?! And no, I don't post worthless "me too" posts, only when I have something I think I can contribute to a discussion.


As to how I know about Outdoor-Fishing's administrator's financial situation concerning the site, he happens to be a personal friend, not just some faceless web site jerk like yourself!

I'm done with this now. You won't get another rise out of me, just wanted to set the record straight for those following this fiasco. I see no sense in continuing a battle of wits with an unarmed man!
