It might be a challenge to keep it on the hook. Maybe use that pantyhose trick they use for liver. I think I'd just try some cut bluegill.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

BELEAVE IT OR NOT CATFOOD IS GREAT FOR CATCHING CATFISH. GET TWO TO FOUR LARGE CANS OF CATFOOD, FREEZE THEM, GET A OLD CHUM BUCKET. TIE YOUR CHUM BUCKET SO IT HANGS ABOUT TWO TO FOUR FEET OBOVE THE BOTTOM. YOU CAN EITHER OPEN THE CATFOOD AT EACH END, PUT ONE CAN INTO YOUR CHUM BUCKETAND DROP IT OVER THE SIDE OF YOUR BOAT.
THIS CREATES A CHUM SLICK THAT DRAWS CATFISH INTO THE AREA WHERE YOUR BAIT IS LAYING.
SOME GUYS JUST PUNCH HOLES INTO THE CAN, CLIP A LARGE SNAP SWAVEL TIED TO A STRONG CORD THEN DROP IT OVER BOARD. AS THE CATFOOD MELTS IT DISPURTS THROUGH OUT THE WATER DOWN CURRENT DRAWING CATFISH TOWARD YOUR BAIT.
