Gamakatsu has a whole line up of hooks for just about every fishing application out there. Go to Gamas website. The only hooks I use.

I was a big fan of Mustad but of late have been fishing most of my live bait with circle hooks and Gamakatsu is the only brand I can find that sells octopus circle hooks in sizes smaller than 1/0. I must say I am very pleased with the quality.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it wasn't for my super smooth carbon drag, my 30 year old Trilene would bust!

Matzuo has a line of Snelled circle hooks (series 213) in smaller sizes that are very reasonably priced and work very well. I've been using size 1 and 2 as well as 1/0 and 2/0 for catching channels as well as carp and bass for the past 2 years. They come unsnelled with up eyes or straight shank in sizes from about #4 to 2/0 as well as pre snelled with flourocarbon leaders in sizes of #8 to 5/0.

+1 on the Gamas but I wouldn't pay that price. I feel what I make is a little better and it is also heavier. Maybe I should go into buisness for myself. LOL

Thats how I do mine, I tie a Snell knot to a #8 circle hook using 40lb big game line and attach it to a barrel swivel then tie onto my main line with a slip sinker and put the $4.49 towards some beer!

I've used a variety of brands and all work equally well. Having a source of hooks can be a problem. I get most of mine from Catfish Connection. Great selection and prices. I use non-offset circles as much as possible. The Gama rigs to me are too expensive for what they are. Cheaper in the end to buy the components and make your own rigs.
