To all my fellow fisher men. A few months ago I had all my fishing gear stollen.I lost three tackle boxes full of fishing gear for pan fish, Trout, Bass, and samon. I had two poles and a fishing net. This creep was arested and all my gear gone. The guy was a meth user and soldf all my stuff. So know I am asking for some help. Any thing would be great. My sweet and loving wife start me out with a new pole and a tackle box with some tackle.

Im sorry someone stole all your gear. That is terrible. But I just do not trust people online who ask for free stuff. If you can afford three tackle boxes full of gear and two poles you can afford to save up and buy more tackle. There are many people who are down and out in this economy and if this is the worst of your problems count yourself lucky.

It toke me over 30 yrs to get all that stuff. Some of it was handed down to me the years from my father. That is how I got to have all that stuff. I spent 15 yrs in the Marine Corps also, that does not make me a scam artist. It makes me a pissed off Marine that just wants his stuff back.

But none of us knew that. Im honestly sorry your gear was stolen. I know I would feel sick to my stomach! It's just that there have been a few members before that wanted us to "donate" money to them. Like one guy wanted us to give him money to buy a bass boat!

Tell you what.  I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.  Send me a PM with your name, address, phone number and e-mail and I'll see what I can come up with for you.  Quantum is right about othes on the site and as you are new to the forums I can understand his reluctance.  I personally don't care as I give generously to many and can afford to part with a few things.  I have had things stolen and know plenty of others that have and too, just wish people would leave my stuff alone, but it is what it is.

Most likely your tackle was taken to a Pawn shop, local flea market, or the local black market for stolen goods.

FOR PREVENTION THIS MAY HELP,... Always photograph all your equipment as it is added to, or annually Keep photos handy at home or in a bank safety deposit box.

I also used self adhesive mailing address labels on the outside [in plain vision] and inside [hidden and visible] of all my tackle boxes. In some cases, I have even taped my old business card under the trays in the tackle boxes.

The self adhesive labels work well on Spinning reels too. Place them on the bottom side of the reel foot then place reel on rod. Theives cannot see these, but if something is stolen, then tell the police where to look for these forms of ID proving that the stuff is yours.

In some cases like a large Spincast reel,... The Zebco One, Omega One, Omega 191, and the Zebco 55,... These adhesive address labels will fit inside the reel inside the bottom cover as well.

How many crooks actually look inside their stolen goods for ID?

Smaller models like the Zebco 33, 44, 66, and the 404,89,808,888, will also allow these mailing labels to be put in place, trimming may be needed however.

Just trying to help other NAFC members with my idea, so they might not lose their stuff, or help get it back if taken.

Also as I am sure you and many others of us know you can get some good buys on e-bay and but in bulk old lures and tackle. Also thrift stores and old shop stores are a good place to get them I have bought many things from these type of places. We also keep an eye out at yard/garage sales. I myself and starting over in a new state and have not got much but as I look around and bargan shop. I have got quite a bit over that last year. Craigs list can some times have good deals on things also just look in sporting goods and type in what your looking for or post in there what you are looking for or need with what you are willing to spend. Hope some of these ideas help. Also if you PM me your name address I might be ables to send you a few soft plastics that my step son picked in in a AWSOME deal that he never uses and I didnt take off his hands LMAO.

To all that has read about the bad luck I had a while back.  I would like to thank you for your advise and every thing. But I would really like to thank JustDave, he is what you call a true fisherman.  He not only helped me out with some well needed peaces to my new tackle box. He gave some of his hand made jigs and even a very beautiful  Hand Made 9' Salmon - Steel Head pole. This was all given to me out of his goodness of his heart. I will inclose photos the next time. But if any one is looking for some great home made jigs and pole give JustDave a call at(503)780-5177 Or even better email him at fishingwiththeboys2@netzero.com or his web site www.fishingwiththeboys.mysite.com.
