Well today marks the day when the lead ban goes into effect in my home state of Massachusetts and in my infinite foresight I have forgotten to buy some alternate weights. I hardly ever use sliding worm weights and rarely use split shot, but one thing I really need are some tungsten jigheads. I looked on the Bass Pro website and found very little in the way of tungsten jigheads, especially ones for panfishing. Anyone know a good place to find some smaller tungsten jigheads?

I did a quick search and found no tungsten jigs in small sizes, there are companies which specialize in lead free, I looked at some of the websites. Get on the web and see.

Is the Massachusetts ban on the use of lead tackle or just the sale of it? I can't believe that they can force the retirement of what must be tens of thousands of dollars worth of otherwise good fishing tackle. Most states with a lead ban at least have grandfathered existing tackle and just outlawed the sale of new lead.

Last year Washington restricted the use of lead on 12 lakes and banned lead on another. I cringe when I think about how much it's going to cost to replace all of my lures containing lead. It's just a matter of time before lead is banned statewide.  It wouldn't suprise me if the State got into the lead free fishing tackle game
