It's time we try to jump start the New York thread. Not alot of participation and yet NY has so many members.

My question is how long of leader do you use on your leadcore and what do you use?
I'm going to rig a rod and reel with 27lb leadcore. I plan on using 20' of 17lb Trilene Fluorocarbon Professional.

Wellsley you are on the right track with leadcore and your leader. When I fished leadcore before, I used a mono leader approx. 20 to 25 ft and usually in the 12 to 15 lb range. With flouro you can probably go with the 17# okay as that should not spook the fish at all.

I am going to be doing a lot more this year with dipsy divers and slide divers along with my downriggers. I have a whole bunch of divers that have never seen the water so this year we will experiment more. Plus I have the Fish Hawk TD to do some tracking with to see how deep the divers are actually going.

Bring your leadcore along and lets catch some Salmon.

From what I've been reading the leadcore seems to work well for LL and eyes. I will have to experiment to find out what works. I've been using dipsys and jet divers for a couple of years and have had some success. I just don't fish often enough. Some of us have to work. LOL

    Is it summer yet.

Stop your whining about having to work Wellsley. Some of us only to get to fish a few lakes while you seem to do very well travelling from one area to another fishing. Just remember when you head to my area of the state to give me a call or email. I will take you fishing on two of my favorite lakes.

Whaa, whaa, whaa. I'll whine if I want to. LOL The price of gas this year I might have to cut back on the traveling. We have most of our camping scheduled for the summer. I plan on being at the northeast meet this year.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner J. The northeast meet is a gathering of members that will get together on Friday May 18th at Rogers Rock campground on the northern end of Lake George. We spend the weekend camping and fishing. Look at the members meet thread for more info. Or ask me more questions and I will do my best to answer them.
