Well, it seems like no one has good enough ice to get out on the lake or the weather has been too nasty to go fishing. So...while we're all sitting around waiting...I thought I would post something to look at. This is a Pflueger Summit, dated 1957. It is just like the one my grandfather had. I always wished I could have obtained his, but it was probably sold at auction with all his other stuff when he died. This one brings back many fond memories.

Hee hee...you're gonna have to up that ante guys...I recently saw one like this(mint with all the trimmings) sell for 137.50! If you check eBay, you can usually find one in pretty good shape for $30 to $50(just the reel). Its good to see some interest here in vintage tackle...if you like looking at the old stuff...go to my profile page and check out the photos. Enjoy!

Thats a beautiful reel, mo. What a score! Kinda reminds me of the pistols they find from the old west with all that engraving, looks really sweet.

Sam, actually those handles are a synthetic material they called "ivoroid", but earlier reels did use bone to simulate ivory. Thanks for taking a look.
