my brother in law invited me to go out of fortesque nj ,in a 20 ft boat. we packed up four sandwiches ,stopped by to pick up chum and headed out at 630 am . after some smooth sailing for about an hour, the water started to get choppy at 35 knots so we slowed down. just as barry backed off the gas ,we heard and felt the loudest boom.the boat did a wheely and list over. the engine has come to a dead stop and ripped right off the back of the boat, along with the mount that used to  hang  it on.after shooting our flares we got the attention of a nearby boater who tryed to tow us to shore . but he had burnt his motor up in the process now were two dead ducks in the water floating floating 12 miles from shore.after a while the coast gaurd came to our rescue .sent out two cutters and towed us back to the waiting state troopers  on the dock.we didnt arrive back home till 11 at night where our wives didnt believe a word of it .now thats a whale of a story and totally true . thanks to the fellow who tryed to help. sorry bout your engine. this was back in 1987 bbefore cell phones
