I am hoping for green on opener but I must be a realist.

This is what the opener is going to look like.

The keys to a successful opening days early season opener is to look for those Thermal Changes in holes. Note the small spring emptying in on the right...The trout were stacked up like cord wood here. It was a Grand day.

Tiny streams doesn't always mean tiny fish.

Lots of folks dislike the scenery right after the snow melts.  It means no more cold snow runoff...warmer waters and trout that haven't been harassed for 5 months.

The days that the fish didn't matter.

Renewing an old friendship or fishing with a family member was all it was about.

If you are ever in the area give a shout before you come.  I will show you around.
A guide is totally unnecessary for the area.  Plenty of public land and the trout are plentiful.

Oh, yes.  I'd hike miles to fly fish any of those streams.  My 2 wt and a handful of size 18 dries, and I'd be one happy camper.
